Following extensive investment and the addition of a spectacular new USGA-standard chipping area, our unrivalled practice area including putting green and 12 bay driving range is the perfect frontage to the clubhouse, enabling you to enjoy the superb facilities Sandy Lodge has to offer.
Whether you are warming up before a game or working on your swing technique, enjoy the spectacular views across the golf course from our 12-bay driving range. We are committed to offering a premium experience, providing you with the high quality, regularly renewed, practice balls. Features include new mats at variable tee heights and a regraded area with multiple distance flags ranging from 50 to 200 yards.
Built in 2017, our spectacular new chipping area is drawing golfers from near and far. Designed by experienced course architect Ricky Willison to full USGA standards, construction was overseen by Master Greenkeeper Greg Evans and our own Head Greenkeeper, Richard Elderfield. The expert team behind the new chipping area managed the project seamlessly from start to finish resulting in an international-class playing surface located next to the putting green.
Our distinctive links-style revetted practice bunker and sleeper-style bunker were inspired by the enormous hazard on our renowned 2nd hole. With four flag positions, our challenging practice bunkers provide you with the opportunity to work on a range of shots and prepare for your next game of golf.
Considered by many “a game of its own”, where better to improve the finer skills of putting than on our undulating, perfectly manicured 18 hole putting green. Located beside the new chipping area and practice bunkers, the putting green completes the full complement of fantastic practice facilities at Sandy Lodge.
