Guidelines

Welcome to Sandy Lodge Golf Club. These notes have been prepared to give you some background information about Sandy Lodge Golf Club. The Club welcomes guests, and we hope that you have an enjoyable day with us.

Access & Parking

Sandy Lodge Golf Club is located on the Moor Park Estate.   Upon entering the estate, you should approach the safety barrier which will automatically open.    We kindly ask guests to use the Visitors car park located on Sandy Lodge Lane and not park in front of the Clubhouse.  Please do not enter the Visitors car park via the Goods/Deliveries entrance.

Once parked, please make your way towards the Clubhouse and check into the Golf Shop where directions and further instructions will be provided.

Course

We would ask that trolleys and buggies are not taken into the thick rough, or between greenside bunkers and the green.

Golf Clubs

Please secure your clubs in your vehicles after golf. Golf clubs are not permitted in the clubhouse. No trolleys or bags should be placed in the terrace area.

Practice Areas

Guests are permitted access to the practice facilities 30 minutes before your allocated tee time. When using the short game area, please ensure you only hit a maximum of five shots from the permitted area.

We would request that practice balls aren’t used on the short game area.

The pace of play

Sandy Lodge Golf Club has adopted ‘Ready Golf’ philosophy. The principles of Ready Golf are:

  • No honour, except in match play – the first player ready plays!
  • Players should play their own ball before helping others look for their lost ball.
  • When not playing your shot, you should be preparing to play.

Dress Code

Sandy Lodge Golf Club is a traditional, but welcoming Private Members Club, and we would ask that the following standards are observed.

Sandy Lodge Golf Club Dress Code

On the Course

Recognised standard golfing attire must be worn.  Shirts should be tucked in, and caps should only be worn with the peak at the front.   In the summer, tailored golf shorts and sport socks are permitted.  Also a reminder to shout fore, and please repair pitchmarks and divots.

In the Clubhouse

We have a relaxed, smart casual dress policy in the Clubhouse.   Smart jeans are welcome, however ripped or dirty jeans, round necked tee shirts are not permitted.

Please remember to remove your cap/hat when coming into the Clubhouse.   Waterproof clothing should also be taken off before entering the bar and restaurant area.

Golf shoes are acceptable in the spike bar but not to be worn in the main bar and restaurant area.

Mobile phones are allowed, only if they are switched to silent mode.     Please do not bring your golf clubs into the Clubhouse, they should be left outside on the terrace (beyond the metal fence).

Footpaths

A small number of public footpaths cross the course and players are asked to be aware of walkers and runners.

Security

You are reminded that the Club cannot be held responsible for the loss of goods belonging to guests. Every guest is advised to have his or her own insurance cover for any loss and for third-party liability.  A code for operating the locker room door will be issued upon arrival at the Pro Shop or Clubhouse.
