Hole 5

Long Carry

Getting its name from the uphill tee shot and the prevailing breezes that make this hole play longer than it looks, this classic par 4 has an incredible nine bunkers. The fairway slopes left to right, so mind the pro's tip, but beware the bunkers and large tree that can foil any attempt at reaching the green in regulation. Combine these facts with a tricky two-tiered green, and the player should be happy to escape this difficult hole in par.

Member’S Tip:

The 5th hole warrants it's low stroke index in terms of difficulty with danger lurking from tee to green. The cardinal rule is to be straight. The humps and rough either side of the ridge across the fairway allied to the right hand side bunker demands an accurate tee shot. The fairway slopes left to right and any shot pulled or pushed risks being in semi rough, gorse, bunker or blocked by the Oak trees either side. Best to remember when playing this hole - straight is great.
